Dave Amlen, CEO of Sound On Sound Recording in New York City, has announced that the company plans to join forces with nearby Right Track Recording this fall.

Sound On Sound will close its doors at 322 West 45th St. and relocate it's staff and key equipment to the premises at Right Track just blocks away in the heart of Manhattan. The move will take place on October 31, 2005. "It's exciting to see things change. Our two facilities together will have a lot more to offer to the recording community than each of us does by ourselves," says Amlen. "The sum of our new company will be greater than our individual parts. We'll be maintaining the best of both companies; we won't be losing any of the qualities that makes each of us special."

Amlen launched Sound On Sound in 1987. The company has had a stable of loyal clients, a number of whom, like the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade for whom Sound On Sound does music pre-records dates back to it's inception. With three recording studios and two Pro Tools HD suites, its analog and digital recording, mixing and mastering environment has been a frequent spot for engineers and mixers such as Ray Bardani, Pat Viala, Cynthia Daniels, Brian Sperber and David Bendeth.

Right Track has hosted such artists as Barbra Streisand, The Rolling Stones, Madonna, Sting, Elton John, Celine Dion, Metallica, David Bowie, Whitney Houston, Will Smith, James Taylor and Herbie Hancock since its founding in 1976 by Simon Andrews. Recognized as one of the premier recording studios on the East Coast for many years, Right Track features two production rooms and four music-recording studios with full 24-bit digital and high-end analog environments.

"Simon started on the band-management side and I began as a musician," Amlen recalls. "We were both looking for affordable places for our bands to work so we opened our own companies. Over the years we've both enjoyed this industry despite its ups and downs." Sound On Sound COO Christopher Bubacz agrees that the upcoming move will make the combined company only stronger. "It builds on our respective strengths while continuing the traditions that have made each of our facilities a success," he explains. "Clients who have enjoyed working at Sound On Sound will continue to experience everything they value about Sound On Sound in our new home at Right Track. Our management team, attention to technical excellence and dedication to client satisfaction will remain intact." In fact, the move is expected to be smooth and virtually transparent for Sound On Sound clients.

In addition, Sound On Sound clients will gain some distinct advantages. "Our current space is limited, but at Right Track, we'll enjoy the potential for expansion," Bubacz reports. "We will also have access to Right Track's huge orchestral room on 38th Street, the largest dedicated recording studio on the East Coast." Sound On Sound will be bolstering Right Track's leading edge equipment arsenal with its monitoring systems, two SSL consoles and dozens of rare and hard-to-find mics. "When clients come to a recording studio they want to be taken care of and have the best experience possible," concludes Amlen. "Now, they'll have two people at the helm dedicated to taking care of their needs. What could be better?"
