Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 21, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Legacy Recording Studios (“Legacy”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use our website and services, and the rights and choices you have. By using Legacy, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Who we are

Legacy Recording Studios operates an online directory and marketplace that helps artists, producers, and engineers discover recording studios and connect with studio owners and other creators. This policy applies to our public website, member application, and related services (together, the “Service”).

2. Information we collect

We collect information in three ways:

Information you provide directly:

  • Account details — your name, email address, password, and role (artist, producer, engineer, or studio owner) when you register.
  • Profile and listing content — studio details, creator profiles, photos and media, business hours, rates, amenities, equipment, and links you choose to publish.
  • Communications — inquiries, booking requests, direct messages, reviews, support tickets, and any other content you send through the Service.
  • Verification and claim materials — documents you upload to claim or verify a studio or your identity.
  • Payment information — if you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment processor collects your billing details; we do not store full card numbers.

Information we collect automatically:

  • Usage data — pages viewed, searches, listings you interact with, and referring pages.
  • Device and log data — IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and timestamps.
  • Cookies and similar technologies — used to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and measure engagement (see “Cookies” below).

Information from third parties:

  • If you sign in through a third-party provider, we receive basic profile information you authorize.
  • We may display publicly available business information (such as location and nearby places) from mapping and places providers to enrich studio listings.

3. How we use your information

  • To provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including creating and displaying listings and profiles.
  • To connect artists and creators with studios — for example, delivering a booking request or inquiry to the relevant studio owner.
  • To send transactional messages such as verification, password resets, booking updates, and receipts.
  • To send marketing or product communications where permitted — you can opt out at any time.
  • To personalize content, measure and improve the Service, and develop new features.
  • To protect the Service, detect and prevent fraud or abuse, and enforce our Terms.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

4. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as described here:

  • With studios and creators you contact — when you send an inquiry, booking request, review, or message, the recipient receives the information needed to respond.
  • Publicly, at your direction — content you publish (listings, profiles, reviews) is visible to anyone using the Service.
  • With service providers — vendors that host our infrastructure, store media, send email, process payments, and provide analytics, under contracts that limit their use of your data.
  • For legal reasons — to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, or protect the rights, safety, and property of Legacy, our users, or the public.
  • In a business transfer — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

5. Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, secure the Service, and understand how it is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect how the Service works. Where required, we honor recognized opt-out preference signals.

6. Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and afterward only as necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account at any time (see your rights below).

7. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to opt out of marketing. Specifically:

  • Access and update — most information can be viewed and edited in your account settings.
  • Deletion — you can delete your account from your settings or by contacting us.
  • Marketing opt-out — every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link; transactional messages will still be sent.
  • California residents — you may request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected, request deletion, and are entitled not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising these rights. We do not sell personal information.
  • EEA/UK residents — you may exercise the rights above and lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority; our legal bases include performance of a contract, legitimate interests, consent, and legal obligation.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@legacyrecordingstudios.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

8. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit and hashed passwords. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International users

We operate in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., you understand your information may be processed in the U.S. and other countries with different data-protection laws, and we take steps to protect it consistent with this policy.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised policy.
