About Somni Studios
SOMNI is a multi-room facility, equipped with 3 separate rooms for recording.
“Live Room” – Our main tracking room, featuring 25 ft slanted ceilings, a custom iso box for combo guitar amps, acoustic baffling & diffusion for sonic control, and easy sightline into our “4 Square” room.
“4 Square Room” – Named for the 4 “squares” of carpet, this room is one of two acoustically treated “room in a room” styled booths. This booth features custom designed acoustic treatment & AC noise baffling, midi connections, guitar cabinet lines, and a screen for easy mirroring of the current session or video chats.
“Diamond Room” – This booth was initially designed around a “Diamond Booth” from Vocal Booth. We have since expanded the booth size, giving more freedom of movement and ability to use the booth for other purposes. Used mainly as our Vocal and VO booth, it also contains lines for guitar cabinets, and can also host combo amps when recording live.
“Control Room” – Our control room is located upstairs, without the typical “fish bowl” effect of the engineer looking at you while recording. All guitar heads live upstairs, with an amp switcher and lines going downstairs for easy connections. We also have a small “kitchenette” upstairs for food & drinks if running longer sessions.
